Custom Home Portraits

Custom Home Portraits are commission based works done in pen and ink with watercolor. Visit the shop page for a list of price options based on size, color and details such as adding people or pets to the custom piece. Prices currently range between $300-700 for each piece. Once an original is completed, the image is saved and can be made into notecards. 

Turnaround time for each piece is generally 3-4 weeks during regular season from the date of deposit (50% of the total cost). During peak season (late October through early January), turnaround time often shifts to approximately 6-8 weeks from the date of deposit. 

When ordering a custom home portrait, Maggie will ask for a non-refundable deposit which is due prior to work commencing. This deposit adds your commission to the list of works to be completed. In this time, a contract will also be sent to the collector. This contract outlines legalities such as copyright belonging to the image. No image can be reproduced in any way without prior permission from the artist. 

Maggie can work from photographs of homes or other subject matter if there is not a way for her to visit the property. In this case, one great photograph or multiple photos of the subject matter will need to be emailed to maggie@walkingmanstudios.com for a proper recreation as art. If you choose to add people or pets to the illustration, it is imperative that Maggie receives full length (head to toe) images of these subjects. If you wish to have them drawn sitting, standing, wearing specific clothing, etc. please send images of the subjects in this exact orientation and provide Maggie with these details prior to work commencing. 

You are welcome to pay through the website for this custom piece. In this circumstance, you will be paying the full price upfront but the same rules apply and a contract will still need to be signed for this piece. In the instance that you are unhappy with the completed piece and choose not to take it, Maggie will refund 50% of your payment and you will have no rights to the work.
